The history of i-mold dates back to the year 1998 when the company was founded as

Exacon GmbH & Co. KG, a provider of services to the plastics processing industry. The business focus was initially on development and equipment design.

Since 1998 the company has been engaged in the development and manufacturing of gate inserts.

In  2004, Exacon GmbH & Co. KG was renamed i-mold GmbH & Co. KG.

Trough improved production technology and material properties the second generation of tunnel gate inserts are now available.

i-mold has expanded its range through the addition of Heatlock hot runner systems.
